Neuro-Linguistic Programming is an approach to understanding and utilising subjective experience. NLP is particularly interested in what works well and what people are doing when they are really succeeding at an activity.
This is a particularly rich approach because it utilises ideas and practices that work, regardless of their source. While it uses psychology, NLP draws on many other disciplines and the achievements of exceptional individuals.
Over the last thirty years NLP has developed ways of capturing the physical behaviour, beliefs and other thinking that underpin the achievement of individuals in fields such as sport, the arts, business and education. This capturing is called "modelling".
Paul has carried out three NLP business modelling projects. He has studied and produced reports and training for Facilitators, Managers of Field Engineering Teams and Project Managers.
Paul frequently speaks on NLP to organisations. He has also presented NLP Conferences and written articles on NLP. He was an executive member of the Association for NLP while this was still a charity.
Paul studied with several NLP schools and also assisted on a number of their certificated trainings between 1990 and 1994. He has completed two Master Practitioner courses, an Advanced Master Practitioner and a Trainer's Training in the USA with Robert Dilts.
A more recent development within NLP is "Clean Language". Since 1995 Paul has attended many courses and workshops on this and was one of the first people to apply these ideas within organisations. Clean Language can be used to promote team building, enhance creativity, develop marketing ideas and improve questioning skills.
